At Broad View United, the Thrift Store is more than a shop—it’s a hub of connection, generosity, and purpose. Every purchase, every donation, and every volunteer hour supports BVU’s ministries, programs, and community outreach. The Thrift Store offers affordable goods for the public while creating meaningful opportunities for volunteers to build friendships, learn new
skills, and give back.

Our Purpose

● Community Service: Providing affordable clothing, books, housewares, and treasures to the wider Victoria community.

● Sustainability: Giving new life to gently used goods through resale and recycling, reducing waste and extending usefulness.

● Support for BVU Ministries: Proceeds (averaging $20,000/month) directly sustain BVU’s inclusive, LGBTQ+ affirming and intercultural operations and programs, along with social justice outreach that benefit people of all ages.

● Volunteer Belonging: Offering safe, inclusive space where over 100 volunteers work together, learn skills, and find joy in service.

Volunteer with Us

The store thrives because of its volunteers. With around 120 helpers, roles include sorting, pricing, greeting customers, receiving donations, cashiering, or even checking puzzles to make sure every piece is there.
