Every gift given to BVU helps sustain ministry, care for our facilities, support staff and programs, nurture spiritual growth, build community, and extend our outreach beyond our walls.
We believe in transparency, accountability, and generosity. Below, you can explore how financial gifts are put into action through the life and ministry of Broad View United and through the many organizations and community partners we support.

A Word from the Treasuer
BVU’s Treasurer offers a brief overview of how financial resources are stewarded and allocated to support our mission, ministry, operations, and community partnerships.
Supporting Ministry at Broad View United
Your gifts support worship, pastoral care, spiritual formation, children, youth, young adults, intercultural ministry, music programs, community gatherings, building operations, and the many ministries that help BVU flourish as a welcoming and 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusive faith community.
Supporting Our Community Partners
Generosity at BVU extends beyond our congregation. Through financial support, partnerships, and shared commitments, we help strengthen organizations that serve our neighbours, promote justice, foster belonging, and build a more compassionate community.

Our Community Partners
Victoria Cool Aid Society / Cool Aid Dental Clinic
Supported with a $2,500 gift from the Margaret Cameron Trust Fund, helping provide essential dental care for vulnerable people.
North Park Ministry / North Park Hamper Program
BVU partners with North Park to provide food hampers, eggs, and Easter treats for local families.
Our Place Society
Ongoing partnership supporting community meals, seniors’ programs, and outreach. In June 2025, BVU presented a legacy gift, $515,000, from the First Metropolitan United Church Foundation in gratitude for this life- giving relationship.
Saanich Neighbourhood Place (SNP)
Supported through donations of diapers, formula, baby food, wipes, and supplies to families in need, especially during the holiday season. SNP also locate their office in the Hub of BVU and runs Parents and Tots program with BVU volunteers and staff every Monday, Wednesday and FridayÂ
Shelbourne Community Kitchen
Founded in 2013 with St. Aidan’s United Church (a BVU founding congregation) as one of the original member churches. BVU continues to
support the Kitchen annually through donations, food pantry collections delivered by key volunteers, and participation in justice fairs and food security initiatives.
Rainbow Kitchen Society
Received a $4,000 gift from the Margaret Cameron Trust Fund to support their family lunch programs.
The Cridge Centre for the Family
Received a $4,000 gift from the Margaret Cameron Trust Fund for the Cridge Transition House.
Threshold Housing Society
Received a $4,000 gift from the Margaret Cameron Trust Fund to support youth ages 15–21.
Saanich Volunteer Services
Supported through the Outreach Fund, including funding for a new lunch program in 2024.
Palestinian Solidarity Initiatives
Ongoing support through Zatoun Trees for Life olive tree sponsorships, date sales, and educational events.
Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund, UNRWA, RAWA (supporting Palestinians and Afghan women), and The Sameer Project
Ongoing support through Zatoun Trees for Life olive tree sponsorships, date sales, and educational events.
UCW “REACH One Touch One” Project (Uganda)
Support for African Elders.
Jasper United Church
Assisted through Outreach Fund contributions after the devastating 2024 wildfire.
Kamloops United Church Fire Recovery Fund
Supported following the 2024 fire that destroyed much of the downtown church.
Greater Victoria Acting Together (GVAT)
Active partnership with this community coalition advocating for housing, environmental justice, and social equity.
