Take a moment to explore the information below—and if you’d like to connect with a staff member before your visit, don’t hesitate to send us a message!
We’ll do our best to make sure you and your children feel welcomed and comfortable.
We strive to create a culturally diverse environment where every young person – regardless of skin colour, first
language, or length of time in Canada — can experience care and fully participate, just as they are fully loved by God. As an intercultural and 2SLGBTQ+ affirming congregation, we are also committed to ensuring that all queer and trans children and youth can experience the love and word of God.
Children are a vital part of our community.
They are welcome to join in all parts of church services, including communion. We welcome them to be who they are by moving about during the service, leaving at any time, and coming back in if they want to. We welcome adults to also do the same!
A typical service has children in the sanctuary with their parents, family, or guardians for the first songs, the lighting of the Christ candle, and the opening prayer. Then there is a children’s time where children are invited to meet together at the front of the sanctuary for a story and discussion. After this, children are invited to leave the sanctuary and join the children’s ministry leaders for the Sunday Mornings Children’s Program or go to the crèche. Guardians are of course welcome to join their children for the whole or part of the Sunday Mornings Children’s Program.
A caregiver will be available in the Crèche most Sundays for infants and toddlers who are ready to be left in care.
Parents are also welcome to hang out in the Crèche room with their child where toys and stories are available while the service is live-streamed into the room for the adults.
Welcome to an exciting year of faith exploration with our programs for toddlers on up!
Following the Children’s Time in the sanctuary, we move to our own space to explore the stories and teachings of Jesus, and the many ways that God’s love and gift of hope encourage and guide us.
We gather in small groups by age, with stories, crafts, conversation, fun activities, science, and games to learn and connect our faith with everyday life.
